As we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic and the ever-volatile global politics and economy, the Sarawak Government has rolled out a bold and ambitious plan to make Sarawak modern and high-income by 2030 through the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS), 2030.
Many innovative initiatives have been introduced and being implemented by the Sarawak Government to diversify and strengthen the economy such as the Green Economy, Blue Economy, Digital Economy, Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage and Carbon Trading. All these requires highly skilled and innovative human capital. Whether it be natural resources, technological advancements or intellectual capital, the capabilities of a skilled workforce determine how efficiently and innovatively these resources can be leveraged for the benefit of people of Sarawak.
As such, a pool of highly skilled human capital possessing the expertise, knowledge and adaptability are important ingredients to unlock the full potential of Sarawak’s resources. This also requires the collective effort of all stakeholders, both the public and the private sectors, to make it a reality.
