Program Description
Malaysia's Service Tax has been introduced in Malaysia effective 1st September 2018, to replace the Goods and Services Tax (GST). Since then, there are quite a number of changes to the Service Tax legislations such as the requirement to self-account for imported taxable services, expansion of scope of Service Tax and effective 1st March 2024, the increase in the Service Tax rate from 6% to 8%. It is important for businesses to keep themselves updated with the latest changes as any non-compliance could result in penalties and fines. Join this session as the speaker shares the fundamentals of Service Tax, provide insights on available reliefs and exemptions as well as implications of current Service Tax developments.
