Program Description

The art of bookkeeping is mainly designed and catered for working adults who has no or limited knowledge in bookkeeping. The content of this program commences with the introduction of the roles of bookkeeping in a business environment, follow by the setting up of the bookkeeping system. The program then include illustration ranging from maintaining full set of accounts to preparation of financial statements in a sole proprietorship. The program ended with illustration of fundamental financial performance analysis using selected key financial ratios.

As this program can be seen as a pivotal fundamental understanding to all types of accounting software in use by all businesses, it is highly recommended to all accounts and finance personnel's who needs to perform their work using accounting software.

Learning Outcomes

• Understand the fundamentals of bookkeeping, including the purpose and creation of financial documents.
• Apply double-entry accounting principles to record financial transactions accurately
• Create and maintain financial ledgers, ensuring proper organisation and documentation of transactions.
• Accounting for end of period adjustments like depreciation, accruals, prepayment, irrecoverable debts, allowance for receivables.
• Prepare bank reconciliation statement.
• Prepare and interpret key financial statements.
